Nova Scotia, aka do-not-blink-country

One of hubbies dreams was going to Nova Scotia/Canada to show me this unique little island.  And me, being a good wife, will  help to fulfill that dream. We decided beginning of June would be a good time. We wanted to get away from our by-weekly rat race and get a much needed relaxation time. Weather should be nice with little tourists as the season starts on the 15th of June which would be our last night in NS. Since time is so precious I am writing this blog after we got home and I have the time and energy to re-cap our trip. So all that is hindsight.

But as always here is some back ground information. Along the blog you will encounter more history, 'cause that is how we travel. So, here it goes;

The First nations called it Mi"kma"ki, the French call it Acadia and the British call it New Scotland or Nova Scotia.

The largest ethnic group in NS is Scottish (31.9 %), followed by English (31.8%), French (17.9%), German (11.3).40.9 % identified their ethnicity as "Canadian". NS is the 2nd smallest province after Prince Edward Island with a population a bit shy of a million people. But it is the 2nd densely populated region with 20 people per sq/km (52 P/p sq.mile). More on that statement later. Almost 90% speak English only, 10 % speak English and french. In spring the weather should be nice with 10-20 degrees Celsius (50-70 Fahrenheit).

Want to know and see more? Come on right in and follow us to see NS through our eyes. Enjoy.
